Wreaths Across Chattanooga (WAC) is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization committed to honoring veterans through remembrance, education, and community participation.
Each December, volunteers gather at Chattanooga National Cemetery to place remembrance wreaths on the graves of those who served our nation. This effort ensures that the service and sacrifice of our veterans are recognized and never forgotten.
The organization began locally after rising wreath costs created barriers to honoring every veteran. By partnering with local supporters and sponsors, WAC was able to continue the mission and expand community involvement
OUR MISSION
Our mission is to lay a wreath on every gravestone at Chattanooga National Cemetery and in doing so:
Remember all Chattanooga-area veterans who served our country.
Honor the lives of those who served and made the ultimate sacrifice.
Teach the value of freedom and those who protected it .
We also seek to connect older generations of service members with younger generations so that their legacy and the meaning of service are carried forward.
OUR VISION
Our vision is that no veteran’s grave is left without remembrance. When a headstone stands bare, families are left wondering whether their loved one has been forgotten. Our goal is to ensure that every veteran resting at Chattanooga National Cemetery is honored and visibly remembered by the community.
Through community support and participation, we continue working toward complete wreath coverage every year and strengthening awareness of the sacrifices made for our freedom.
